Wasps travel to The Rec. to tackle Bath
- 686
Round 6 of the Premiership kicks off at The Rec. with Bath hosting Wasps.
Wasps will be in buoyant mood after Round 5 as they handed Exeter Chiefs their first loss of the campaign, running away with the game at the end and posting a score of 31-5 at the Ricoh Arena.
The victory was Wasps’ third of the season and saw them hold their fourth spot on the log.
Bath found themselves on the wrong side of the scoreboard against Leicester Tigers in the last round, the final whistle sounding with the latter enjoying a 36-31 victory. It was a game that Charlie Ewels’ men were expected to make their own and they will no doubt be keen to make amends, although the obstacle of Wasps will be a significant one.
The last time the teams met was in Round 17 of the 2019-20 instalment. A fantastic game ensued in which Wasps managed to overturn a 13-point deficit to run out 27-23 victors. The game was a tightly-contested, bruising affair plagued with injuries which eventually resulted in uncontested scrums.
With any luck, the fiery effort of the last encounter will replicate itself in what is sure to be a contest worth watching.
