Six Nations 2015: Sharp and skilful Scotland far better than fellow 'wooden-spoon' side Italy
Mention Italy and most people will think of a country rich in art, architecture and natural beauty.

They will think of the fountains of Rome, the canals of Venice, the galleries of Florence or the elegant shops of Milan.

They will think of Lake Como, the Amalfi coast, the rolling landscapes of Tuscany.

So much for most people.

Mention the place to me and all I can think of is the Saturday afternoon in February 2000, at the Stadio Flaminio, that was just about the worst experience of my rugby career.

It was the day rugby welcomed Italy into the newly expanded Six Nations.
