Saracens v Toulouse | Match Report
- 499
Saracens prepared to face the high flying and star studded Toulouse in a must win game if they were to secure some home advantage in the play off's. Toulouse were in the same boat coming off a poor opeing two rounds by their standards. The game kicked off with Toulouse having won the toss and chossing to play into the wind, Saracens went behind early but fought back and managed a 10 point lead at the break.
As the players ran out for the second half the wind had increased substantially and the rain picked up during the second 40. You felt 10 points was not enough and Saracens needed to push on to build a bigger lead with Toulouse banking on a big second half. The Willis brothers were in an epic battle and Kinghorn had a dectn run at 10 but as the game drew on the visitors made some handling errors, lost parity at scrum time and seemed to run out of steam. All this while McCall drip fed his bench into the game and each one of those players incresed the tempo and added value.
A late Farrell penalty forced Toulouse to hunt a try to win and they kept compounding their errors helping the hosts to a memorable win as they eye the final round next week to try and further better their chances of home play off games
