An extremely entertaining match at Ashton Gate as Bristol suffered their first loss at home this season. Both sides attacked well throughout with a total of 11 tries being scored in the match. Will Hurrell scored the opening try of the game in the 7th minute before the Saints' forwards rumbled towards the line with Ehren Painter dotting down for the visitors. Andrew Kellaway extended Saints lead thanks to some great work by Naiyaravoro and Collins. Bristol went down to 14-men in the 27th minute but John Afoa and Harry Thacker combined to score a sensational try. Lewis Ludlam restored Northampton's lead before Sheedy narrowed the gap to just 4 points before the break. Naiyaravoro powered over for Saints early in the second half with his fellow countryman, Luke Morahan, responding 4 minutes later. Sheedy added a penalty for Bristol before Saints scored two tries to lead 30-45 with 15 minutes to play. Bristol managed to score two tries with the final one coming after the hooter to claim a well-deserved losing bonus point.
