Premiership | Bath vs Wasps line ups and preview
- 1676
The 17th round will conclude with Wasps taking on Bath at The Rec on Monday evening. The former failed to down Sale on Tuesday, losing 20-11 while Bath pushed the buttons on Northampton Saints, delivering the goods in the second half to win 18-3.
With their victory, Bath moved up to 44 points on the log, just one ahead of Wasps and one behind Sale. Thus, should Bristol turn the screws on Sale and Bath manage to outclass Wasps, Charlie Ewels’ men will ascend to third spot on the overall standings.
The previous time the teams did battle was in Round 3 where Wasps emerged victorious, 30-22. While it was a stout effort by Bath, Wasps proved to be too crafty and skilful on the day to be beaten.
This time around, Bath are looking good, and will be fuelled by the confidence of their most recent win. As always, much will depend on the form of the forward packs; a gritty contest ensued the last time and little reason exists to expect anything different in this fixture.
