Pollock scores double from wing as England beat Australia 45-22 at Allianz Stadium

A Henry Pollock brace from the wing helped England to a 45-22 win over Australia at Allianz Stadium in round four of the Nations Championship.
Tries from Jamie George, Ollie Chessum and Joe Heyes gave the home side an early lead before Jack van Poortvliet, Henry Pollock (2) and Ben Spencer added their own efforts after the break.
Steve Borthwick's side now face Japan on Saturday 14 and will look to consolidate their form ahead of their clash with the All Blacks the following week.
In front a sold-out Allianz Stadium on Remembrance Sunday, England started at breathtaking pace, Immanuel Feyi-Waboso scything through the Australian defence and diving over with less than two minutes played.
The wing's effort was eventually ruled out due to a forward pass in the build-up, but it had been a promising start for Borthwick's side and it wasn't long before they were back on the scoreboard.
With England opting to kick for the corner, Australia looked to have repelled their forward pack well, but vice-captain Jamie George showed his experience to steer the maul over for the game's first score.
The Wallabies hit back through a Ryan Lonergan penalty, but were kept from scoring further by some thunderous England defence, with Ben Curry producing a crucial turnover near his side's 22.
England began to build from there, working their way up the pitch thanks to some trademark Feyi-Waboso bursts before Fin Smith flung a wide pass to Chessum who galloped in.
Smith's first conversion attempt had rattled off the uprights but this time the fly half made no mistake, cooly adding the extras from out wide.
There had been question marks over the Northampton Saint's fitness after he sustained a calf injury playing for his club, but he showed no sign of any issues and orchestrated the England attack with typical composure.
Wallabies prop Angus Bell was then sent to the sinbin for a hip-drop tackle and England took full advantage, scoring another powerful maul try with Heyes the beneficiary.
Despite all the rugby being played in Australia's half, Les Kiss's side nabbed an interception try through Max Jorgensen to bring the scores to 19-10 at the break.
The resumption saw Pollock line up on the wing, but the crowd did not have long to marvel at the back row's position change as van Poortvliet had soon bagged the try of the game.
Slick hands from Seb Atkinson and George Furbank sent Tommy Freeman haring up the right wing, before the Northampton man looped the ball back inside to his scrum half who scampered clear.
The home side then began to turn the screw, with Pollock crossing the whitewash after doing well to step round the covering defence.
The back row-turned-wing took to his makeshift position with apparent ease and was soon on the scoreboard again, dashing along the touchline to dot down for a brace.
Filipo Daugunu and Jeremy Williams added consolation scores for their side, but the game had long since been put to bed and England just had time to add a final try through replacement Spencer, with Smith duly adding the extras to cap off a commanding win.
