Player Ratings: Leinster vs. Southern Kings
- 1387
Ed Byrne - 9
Two tries for the loose-head who carried hard all night in an energetic display. His work ethic is incredible and continues to improve on each outing. He was also deservedly given the Man of the Match award.
Ronan Kelleher - 7
Performed his core duties to a very high standard. Threw accurately at the line out and showed some clever link play with some nice touches with ball in hand.
Andrew Porter - 7
Making his fourth start for Leinster of the season, Porter anchored the dominant Leinster scrum and scored a try to cap off a physical shift.
Ross Molony - 7
Another fine shift from the Leinster captain who is having a fine season for the Irish province. A real leader on the pitch and called the line out accuracately. Made 15 carries and matched that work rate also with 8 tackles.
Mick Kearney - 6
Made six carries, seven tackles and won turnovers in a tireless effort before being replaced at half time.
Josh Murphy - 6
The UCD man deserves plenty of credit in the Leinster bonus point effort after delivering a huge shift up front. Made his mark in defense with dominant tackles and cleaned out rucks with great intensity.
Max Deegan - 7
Scored his 11th try in 37 appearances for the province, a quite remarkable strike rate for a back rower. Deegan came to the fore with a strong all-round display and he was particularly impressive as a ball carrier.
Caelan Doris - 8
Making his 11th start of the season, the former Blackrock College No. 8 has gone from strength to strength and is having a breakthrough season.. Doris hit the ground running and got stuck into his opponents from the outset. He made 16 carries and pitched in with 10 hits on defence.
Hugh O’ Sullivan - 6
The Leinster scrum provided quick ball to his back-line and was a constant danger around the fringes. It is evident that he is growing in confidence on each occasion.
Ross Byrne - 7
The Leinster fly-half really came to the fore in the second half and marshaled his back-line around the pitch with intent to secure a high margin victory. He produced a top class offload for Barry Daly to score.
James Lowe - 6
Quiet night on the wing for the Kiwi as he failed to really get into the game at any point. Still gained metres with every carry but failed to received ball in any open spaces.
Noel Reid - 9
Two try effort was richly deserved for his performance tonight. Reid distributed the ball off either side with composure and scythed through the Kings defence with relative ease.
Conor O’ Brien - 7
Was his usual busy and dangerous self throughout. Made a clean break and threw a couple of classy offloads, while also beating three defenders. Linked up well with Reid in midfield.
Fergus McFadden - 6
Came in field looking for work at almost every opportunity and Leinster fans are sure to be delighted to see him back in action following a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Barry Daly - 7
Hit a lovely line to receive a Ross Byrne offload to go over for a score. Used his left foot well to relieve pressure in the first half and made 94 metres with ball in hand, the most of any player.
