Stat Attack
- England have won 14 of their last 15 matches against Argentina, including each of their last four; however, their sole defeat in that spell came at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, in November 2022 (29-30).
- Argentina have won just two of their 10 away games against England, with both victories seeing them overturn a halftime deficit; in fact, the Pumas have never led at halftime in an away game against England, going into the break level twice and behind eight times.
- England have won their last 10 matches. Only on three occasions have they enjoyed a longer winning run in men’s Test rugby, with the most recent being an 18-game spell between 2015 and 2017 (also W14 in 2002-03, W11 in 2000-01).
- After beating Argentina twice in July this year, this will be the 23rd time England have faced the same team three or more times in a single year – only on four of the previous 22 occasions have they recorded a 100% win rate (4/4 v Australia in 2016, 3/3 v Argentina in 2013, 3/3 v Argentina in 2017, 3/3 v Wales in 2003).
- Argentina have won their first two matches of this year’s Quilter Nations Series (v Wales and Scotland), the first time they’ve managed to win more than once in the end-of-year Tests since 2014 when they beat Italy and France but lost to Scotland; they’ve never managed to win three such fixtures in a campaign.
