- 204
Cardiff Rugby's Regan Grace, Section Paloise's Joe Simmonds, and Gloucester Rugby's Santi Carreras are catching the headlines heading into Round 3 of the EPCR Challenge Cup.
With EPCR Challenge Cup Round 3 fast approaching, we take a look at three players who could shine in yet another captivating weekend of clashes.
Regan Grace - Cardiff Rugby
Having made an instant switch from Bath Rugby, 28-year-old Regan Grace could hit the ground running for Cardiff as they travel to USAP in Round 3.
The winger already has a Challenge Cup title to his name - but in rugby league - and will be keen to make a good first impression should he be called into the starting XV immediately due to multiple injuries among the Welsh side.
Having been a shock call-up to the Wales squad for their summer tour to Australia last year, Grace scored with almost his first touch against Queensland Reds and will be keen to make a big impact with the Six Nations around the corner.

Joe Simmonds – Section Paloise
English fly-half Joe Simmonds has been a standout performer in the TOP 14 this season for Section Paloise.
Currently leading the TOP 14 scoring charts with 136 points, his numbers are a testament to his ability to maintain composure under pressure and deliver when the stakes are at their highest. He has played an integral role for Section Paloise this term, featuring in 13 of their 14 league matches and consistently contributing with his reliable boot.
So far, Simmonds has made 26 conversions and 22 penalties in the league, underscoring his consistency as a kicker.
Heading into the Challenge Cup, Simmonds' steady presence and scoring ability will be crucial as they aim to regain momentum when heading to Newport to face Dragons RFC in Round 3.
Santi Carreras – Gloucester Rugby
Argentinian fly-half Santiago Carreras is proving to be a vital cog in Gloucester Rugby’s setup this season.
Carreras shone brightly in last weekend’s Gallagher Premiership clash against a strong Sale Sharks, earning the Man of the Match accolade with 16 points in Gloucester’s 36-20 victory. This included a well-taken try, four conversions, and a penalty.
Gloucester will be looking to Carreras to replicate this form when they face Scarlets in their EPCR Challenge Cup Round 3 opener on Friday. His ability to influence the tie both through scoring and game management will be pivotal as Gloucester seeks to strengthen their position in the competition.
