Leicester Tigers side to play Newcastle Falcons

The Leicester Tigers matchday squad for Round 3 of the 2022/23 Premiership Rugby Cup has been named.

Tigers host Newcastle Falcons on Wednesday, October 19 (Kick-off: 7.00pm) at Mattioli Woods Welford Road.

James Whitcombe captains the side with Sam Edwards and Sean Jansen named as vice-captains.

In only two changes to the starting side from the club’s last outing in the Cup, Kini Murimurivalu starts at full-back and Tom Manz partners Lewis Chessum in the second row.

Tim Hoyt is in line for his first appearance of the season after being included among the replacements, with the front-rower the only player named on the bench who is yet to appear in this season’s Cup campaign.

Rob Carmichael, who featured in Round 1, returns to the matchday squad for Wednesday night’s match.

Nottingham Rugby scrum-half Josh Goodwin, who came off the bench in Round 2, is on loan from the Championship club.
