Jamie Roberts to extend stay at Dragons?

Decorated Welsh and British & Irish Lions centre Jamie Roberts has indicated that an extended stay at current team Pro14 team Dragons is on the cards.

The 34 year-old Roberts signed a one year deal with Dragons after a stint in South Africa with the Stormers.

“When people like being in places then it’s not a difficult conversation. The first thing is to make it a place that he enjoys being,” said Dean Ryan, Dragons director of rugby.

"His influence is enormous. Empty stadiums give an insight into how vocal he is and how much security he gives to everyone around him.

“He just does things very well, regularly, irrespective of what is happening around him. You can totally understand how he has been such a top-level international for such a long time.

“He is a great steadying influence who is enjoying himself, and we are certainly enjoying having him around.”
