The French Rugby Federation has been ordered to compensate former France head coach Guy Noves by an industrial tribunal on Monday.
The French Rugby Federation has been ordered to pay Guy Noves €1 million in compensation after he was sacked as the national coach following a run of six consecutive losses.
Noves, who had sought €2.9 million euros in damages, became the first France coach ever to be sacked, in December 2017, after a record that saw him win just seven tests from 22 alongside 14 defeats and a home draw with Japan.
Under Noves, France lost six consecutive games between June and November 2017, a string of results that federation chief Bernard Laporte deemed unacceptable.
He was replaced by current French head coach Jacques Brunel.
