Eddie Jones trims his squad ahead Wales clash
- 1933
England head coach Eddie Jones has trimmed his squad by seven players ahead of the clash with Wayne Pivac's Wales on Saturday. A 34-man squad was named on Monday to train ahead of the round four Twickenham encounter.
However, seven players were released from the squad on Tuesday, including Saracens' prop Mako Vunipola who didn’t make an appearance at camp as he is in self-isolation as a precaution due to coronavirus fears after flying back from Tonga via Hong Kong.
The other six squad members released by Eddie Jones to their clubs ahead of a full round of Premiership action were Exeter Chiefs trio Harry Williams, Ollie Devoto and recent call up Jack Maunder. Bath’s hooker Tom Dunn, Gloucester’s winger Ollie Thorley and Wasps’ pivot Jacob Umaga will all be available to their respective clubs this weekend.
Meanwhile, Sale Sharks' flanker Mark Wilson has been retained in the squad having successfully recovered from an injury he picked up in the Rugby World Cup Final.
