It is understood that the Lions' commercial structure will undergo a shakeup with the new deal with CVC which would make it more financially valuable to the four home unions of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
CVC is already close to agreeing on a deal with the Home Unions through its negotiations to buy a share of the Six Nations. Once the unions have reached agreement on the Six Nations, it will be less of a leap of thought to bring the same financial partner into the Lions too. The sharing of marketing and intellectual property would make for immediate efficiencies and streamlining.
According to the report, it is possible that a deal with the Lions could be concluded before the 2021 tourists leave for South Africa next summer.
