Crusaders' halfback Bryn Hall recommits

The Crusaders have continued to shape their squad with halfback Bryn Hall re-committing to the franchise until the end of the 2021 Super Rugby season.

Hall's decision to re-sign with the Canterbury-based franchise means the majority of the team which will front the Highlanders on Friday in the Super Rugby quarterfinal will be back next season.

"To be honest, I was pretty keen just to stay. I made that pretty clear with [Robertson]," Hall said.

"Again, my agent has a job to do and there were a few offers out there, but for me, first and foremost, it was just trying to get a deal where I could be here for the next two years."

He joins nine other Crusaders, including Codie Taylor, David Havili and Braydon Ennor, on the books for at least two more years, while five players are locked in beyond then.

That includes captain Sam Whitelock (2023), although he will miss next season while he plays in Japan, Joe Moody, Richie Mo'unga, George Bridge and Richie Mo'unga, all who have signed through 2022.

Finally, eight players are secured through next season and those players are: Jack Goodhue, Whetukamokamo Douglas and Scott Barrett.

Matt Todd and Sevu Reece are the most notable Crusaders who have not yet determined where their future lies.

Hall has played 50 games for the Crusaders but the game against the Highlanders will be his 50th Super Rugby appearance for the franchise.
