Leicester Tigers re-signs Archie van der Flier

Leicester Tigers are pleased to announce that Archie van der Flier has signed a new contract with the club.

The 24-year-old prop joined Tigers as part of the Senior Academy after impressing for Nottingham Rugby in the Championship and has gone on to make 27 first team appearances so far.

He made his competitive debut for the club on October 7 2023, against Bedford Blues in the PREM Cup and was rewarded with a Senior Squad contract ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Van der Flier also received recognition from his country, making his England 'A' debut from the bench as they beat Ireland XV 52-14 in Limerick.

"I'm really excited, really happy. I've loved my time at the club so far, loved my time with this squad. I'm just excited to get back out there at Mattioli Woods Welford Road."

"You get this feeling with Leicester, it's a special place. I love the way we play, I love the squad and I love coming into work every day. I feel very privileged to play for Leicester Tigers."

And on his Head Coach, Geoff Parling, van der Flier added, "I'm looking forward to continuing working with Geoff and the staff here. They are making me a better player, improving every day. I'm looking forward to seeing where this group can go."

Parling added, "Archie is an important player for us right now and one with a huge upside."

"You can see his effort and desire to get better each day and he’s a brilliant character to have in the environment, so we’re delighted to have him with us for the foreseeable future."
