Here's a sentence you probably thought you wouldn't read at the start of the season. "Connacht Rugby - PRO 12 Champions 2015/16"
The men from the West of Ireland were crowned PRO 12 Champions after a superb performance in Murrayfield against Leinster.
Connacht looked to play from the first whistle and were rewarded 13 minutes into the game after the Leinster defence was stretched, Tiernan O'Halloran capitalised and put Connacht into a 7-0 lead.
The evening got better for the men in green as the inform Niyi Adeolokun chipped over Eoin Reddan's head, managed to gather the ball and add a 2nd try for Connacht.
Connacht continued to look dangerous against a Leinster side who looked a completely different outfit to the side that beat Ulster but only could manage 3 points from AJ MacGinty to make it 15-0, and it stayed that way until half time.
It took Leinster 44 minutes to get on the score board, Sexton knocking over a penalty to give Leinster some hope.
However Connacht were most certainly in the mood and the prolific Matt Healy put one hand on the trophy for Pat Lam's side when he latched onto AJ MacGinty's grubber kick through to put them 17 points clear.
Leinster got one back 10 minutes later through Sean Cronin as Leinster stretched the Connacht defence but that was as close as the 4 time champions got, with the score finishing 20-10 to Connacht and a maiden title.
A fantastic story and a fairytale ending for Connacht. PRO 12 Champions!
