Cheika set to test depth in squad
Australia head coach Michael Cheika has rung the changes for his team’s clash with Argentina this weekend in Mendoza.
David Pocock replaces Michael Hooper in the number seven jersey for the Wallabies while Greg Holmes completes his return to Test rugby with a start at prop, having made his first appearance in nearly eight years for his country against South Africa.
Ben McCalman is at number eight while Nick Phipps and Matt Toomua come into the backline for the injured Will Genia and Matt Giteau.
Bernard Foley replaces Quade Cooper at fly-half as Cheika looks to give everyone an opportunity.
"We are fortunate with the level of depth in the squad to be able to cover for the injuries we sustained last Saturday night against the Springboks," said Cheika.
"They all deserve their start against los Pumas and they now have an opportunity to build on the performance last week and stake their claims.
