Bernard Foley on Wallabies radar following Cooper's injury

71-Test cap flyhalf Bernard Foley is set to join the Wallabies squad when they return to Australia next week.
Dave Rennie will have a closer look at the flyhalf depth in the country following the injury to Quade Cooper with Ben Donaldson and Tane Edmed set to join the training squad along with Foley, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
The report adds that although there is optimism that can make it back for the World Cup, Rennie is planning to build more depth behind James O’Connor and Noah Lolesio between now and then.
32-year-old Foley last represented Australia at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan and has been featuring for Kubota Spears since.
SMH add that Rennie considered Foley as a Giteau Law pick during the pandemic, at the same time Cooper came back into the picture, but it didn’t work out timing-wise for him and Cooper shot the lights out.
The veteran flyhalf is currently on leave from his Japanese club, spending time with his brother in Northern NSW.
