All MLR First XV wing Joe Mano signs with California Legion for 2026 after five productive seasons with the Utah Warriors, bringing elite scoring output and postseason experience to California.
California Legion has signed wing Joe Mano for the 2026 season.
Mano arrives after representing the Utah Warriors from 2021 through 2025, building one of the most consistent scoring resumes in Major League Rugby. Across 54 appearances, he recorded 39 tries and 3,751 meters gained, ranking among the league’s most dangerous attacking threats.
In 2023, Mano delivered a breakout campaign with 14 tries and 1,416 meters gained, finishing second in MLR try scoring and fourth in total meters gained. He followed that performance with another 14 try season in 2025, earning All MLR First XV honors and finishing seventh league wide in meters gained with 869.
During Utah’s 2025 playoff run, Mano started in both the Western Conference Semifinal victory over Seattle and the Western Conference Final, helping the Warriors reach new postseason milestones.
Born in Hawaii and raised in American Samoa, Mano began playing rugby in 2008 and developed through Fa’asao Marist High School before continuing his pathway in Alaska and later Utah. He also represented American Samoa Sevens at the Oceania 7s in Fiji in 2019.
Now joining Legion, Mano adds proven finishing ability, pace, and big match experience to the backline as the club builds toward 2026.
