Matt Mullan

23rd Feb 1987 1.83m/112kg Loosehead Prop

A notable product of the Worcester Warriors academy, Matt Mullan is fast earning a reputation as a quality loosehead prop who operates well around the park. After making his debut for Worcester in the 2005, it was not until the 2007/08 season until people took notice of the up and coming prop.

A call up to the England Saxons squad in 2009 was followed by a full senior cap in the 2010 Six Nations against Italy. Mullan remains on course to be a part of England's long term future at loosehead along with the likes of Joe Marler and Mako Vunipola. Toured NZ in 2014 and played in all four autumn Internationals that year but then had to wait 18 months to make another appearance, gaining the most recent of his caps on last summer's tour to Australia.

Mullan was announced as one of the five players who signed long-term contract extensions with Wasps in May 2016. The 29-year-old won his first cap as a replacement in the draw against Italy in Rome in 2010 and has started just one of his 13 appearances for England, against Wales in the friendly match at Twickenham in May, he came off the replacements’ bench for Vunipola in all three Tests against Australia in the summer. Mullan has been included in 2017 Six Nations squad.

In April 2017, with 15 caps to his name - Mullan was named in the 31-man England squad to tour Argentina in June.

After 128 appearances for Wasps, Mullan left the club with immediate effect and by mutual consent.
