Welcome back CJ!
FULL TIME: Full time from Wellington with the home side coming out well on top. Wellington have all but secured top spot on the table with a resounding win. A strong performance from the pack gave the home side the forward momentum they needed to take control of the game, leading to tries either side of the half. Savea was instrumental and Sopoaga pivotal to the defeat of Auckland tonight, with both palyers having very good games. Auckland only have themselves to blame. A high missed tackle count and a high penalty count lead to their downfall this evening. They were outclassed and marshalled off the park by the Wellington pack.
TRY AUCKLAND: Sub hooker Nathan Vella crosses from short range for his side's first try of the game. Hickey adds the conversion but all far too late to worry the home side.
TRY WELLINGTON: Slick hands from the back line and some good go forward momentum, sucks in the Auckland defence. The ball is spun wide as Bateman creates the space to send Matu'u over for Wellington's fourth of the night.
YELLOW CARD AUCKLAND: Melani Nanai yellow carded for a shoulder charge. He failed to wrap the arms in the tackle and lead with the shoulder. Definite yellow, no sympathy here.
The ref is making use of the TMO once again. Checking for a shoulder charge.
Superb defence from the home side sees the Auckland attack stopped
No try as judged by the TMO. The ref is coming back for a high tackle on an Auckland player.
The referee checking a grounding with the TMO again, this time for Auckland.
TRY WELLINGTON: Ardie Savea pounces on a loose ball inside the Auckland 22. He collects the ball and sprints over untouched for his sides third of the game. The conversion is added.
