In a repeat of last season’s Premiership final, Taranaki host Tasman in week 9 of the ITM Cup in New Plymouth.
Taranaki lies in third position and Tasman in fourth in the Premiership standings, with both sides through to the semi-finals. However, with just two points separating second placed Auckland from Tasman, either of these sides could end up hosting a semi-final with a win in this encounter.
Both sides have six wins and three defeats from their nine matches as they seek winning momentum heading into the semis.
Taranaki are coming off a comprehensive 41-10 win over Manawatu, whereas Tasman went down to log leaders Canterbury.
The visitors will be seeking revenge from last year’s heart breaking 36-32 final defeat at the hands of the same opponents.
