Full time at the Stade Felix Mayol, where Toulon have come out the right side of a brutal encounter. Despite having a man shown a red card mid way through the second half Toulon actually had greater spells with an extra man, as 4 Stade players were shown yellow cards on the day. In truth this game never really took off as a spectacle, with both sides playing poorly throughout. However the hall mark of a championship side is one who can win ugly, and Toulon did just that today. From all of us here at UR, thanks for following and have a good weekend.
Steyn cant sink the touch line conversion. 2 minutes to go, the visitors need one more moment of magic here
TRY STADE! The try is given, Mayer Bosman the last man with hands on the ball when the maul reached the line, tricky conversion to come
Grandstand finish here, 5m line out to the visitors, maul set up and they rumble over but with bodies everywhere, we go upstairs to the TMO
Scything break from Habana, Bonneval hauls him down but gives away a penalty which Michalak cant convert
Michalak makes no mistakes with the penalty, giving his side a very useful 4 point lead
Michalak stabs a drop goal which sails well wide, but were going back for a Toulon penalty which is very kickable
After a nuber of phases Toulon are guilty of over competeing at the breakdown, and Stade are awarded a penalty. Dupuy however cant lad the kick from the half way line.
Toulon ringing the changes, with an entirely new front row installed. Have coped well since the loss of Mikautadze, but there is still plenty left of this game to be played
Huge controversy here, as the Toulon second row Mikautadze is shown a red card for an apparent kick to head to a Stade player on the ground at the ruck. Toulon still lead bu a point, but willstruggle now for the next 30 mins with a man less
