17 Blues players coming through the academy or the regional premiership clubs, most of the Edinburgh squad from Super Rugby, still not good enough from the Blues
FT and we have come to the end of what has been a colourful game. 5 yellow cards in total which no doubt had a huge impact on the game. Cardiff only managed to control their discipline for the final quarter and were duly reward with a good try from second centre Thomas. Edinburgh were the opposite who were disciplined for the first 60 and somehow fell asleep for the final quarter of the game. That said, when awake, they were clinical, led by the boot of Heathcote (who later found himself in the sin bin). All in all a good performance from the home side who will be happy with performances from their youth. Cardiff missed some of their big names today and will need to do some work on the scrum machine before next weekend.
And after the 5th yellow card Cardiff have found a gap with Thomas.
Ref why just ruining the game with these yellow cards
Some reprieve for the visitors with Grant going to the bin, opportunity to capitalise.
Really dislike this ref
Following a slick passage of play left wing Brown crosses just before the 60 minute mark. We enter the final quarter with the hosts leading the frustrated visitors by 22 points.
Cardiff fail to solve their issue with the referee and find a third player in the sin bin after 47 minutes. 23-6
Just sin binned the wrong player! Absolutely amazing refereeing
HT and the hosts lead by 10. Cardiff have struggled with the referee having seen two players sin binned. Edinburgh have been on hand to capitalise through the boot of Heathcote and the nifty footwork of Strauss. Cardiff have remained in the game with out half Davies scoring all their points to date. Both teams have room for improvement which will be addressed at half time no doubt.
