The final whistle blows at Stadium Chersoni and visitors have won this by a whisker. You have to feel for Prato who put in an epic display with only 14 men for the majority of the match. No doubt the number 8 Bernini will have to ask himself some serious questions in letting down his side and wonder if they had kept their full compliment would they have been able to hold out for the victory. On the other side of the coin you have Stade, the big French side who rolled in expecting the easy bonus point victory. The end result is they came away with the 4 points however if they want to compete in this competition they will need to be more consistent. Thanks for following todays coverage with Ultimate Rugby, until next time.
The Stade Francais substitutions have been given a clear message to up the ante and its working. The Italians are under siege and will be forced to finish the game with 13 men after the second row Patelli is sent to the sin bin. The home side lead by 6 with 7 minutes to play.
Hi Daniel, I think Stade arrived expecting Prato to roll over and entered the match a bit over confident. They aren't playing badly but they certainly aren't playing to their full potential either.
Wow! What a game we have here! the French finally take advantage of the extra man in the scrum with a penalty try which the fullback converts with ease. Browne immediately has an opportunity to hit back but misses the penalty however Majstorovic is on hand to split the posts with a drop goal from open play! Both teams are using their substitutes who have brought this game to life.
Are stade playing bad?
Prato are playing with great heart and are rewarded with a try from the right wing Souare! Browne seems to have found his rhythm now and slots the ball over to give the home side a 13 point lead with half an hour to play.
The French make two substitutions in the opening minutes including the ex Trinity College captain Lavalla however they continue to concede penalties with the tight head prop going to the sin bin.
It seems the Italians failed to read the script for todays game! The bookies had Stade -32 but down to 13 men and 42 minutes gone Prato are leading by 6!
A headboard
The half time whistle blows with the home side down to 13! 3 cards in the first half is a true representation of a game which has been dominated by ill-disipline and the referees whistle. So far the boot of Browne separates the sides however undoubtedly the visitors will feel quietly confident in that they will begin the second half with a two man advantage.
