Cardiff for their credit put it up to Leinster for most parts but in the end the young guns of Leinster were too much for the Welsh side. Leinster got off to a flyer with debutant Jack Conan going over in the third minute. Strauss added a try a few minutes later and Leinster looked to be on their way to another convincing win. But tries from Davies and Dacey brought Cardiff right back into this game as Leinster went into the break with a slender 17-12 lead. Davies and Gopperth exchanged penalties after the break. A try from Bent turned the game in Leinster favour after a pick and drive. Leinster then went in search of the all important fourth try and they did not have to wait that long as Reddan dummied and picked up from the rook and went over for the Champions. Cardiff were dead and buried but a late try from Fish who had a wonderful game brought them back into this game. The homeside pushed for converted try to claim a losing bonus point but they ran out of time and Leinster claimed a win to put them top of the pile. Conan steals the ball and Hudson chips a kick forward and gathers his own kick.
