TRY SAMOA - its Lee-lo who eventually barrels over for the game's first try. Well deserved in my opinion

Big hit from Hearn on Stanley sees Samoa's attack knocked back 5m. But the Islanders come back in force and are now inches from the Canadian line

Trainor breaks the line before passing back inside to McRorie who has nobody between him and the try line. Unfortunately for the Canadians, McRorie drops the ball and we ll have scrum to Samoa. Massive let off for the men in blue

Canada with possession inside the Samoa 22. Looking dangerous

Samoa looking to keep it tight. Runners off 1st and 2nd receiver - making good ground

We have a LO to Samoa on the half way line

McRorie gets Canada off to the start they really needed here in Vannes. Another well taken penalty

Wow 50m! Let's go canada!

HT here in Vannes and Samoa go in to the break up by 6 points. A poor Canadian performance to say the least, the Islanders will be very disappointed that they are are not up by more. The game has been relatively scrappy, Samoa unable to maintain continuity in attack despite dominating possession. No tries for them as a result. Stay tuned for the second half.

Canada have no right to be within 6 points of the Samoans but here they are. The score 9-3 as we approach half time
