Lomano Lemeki

Auckland-born Tongan Lemeki grew up in New Zealand before moving to Japan in 2009.

After playing for Sunnybank Colts in Brisbane , Lemeki moved to Japan to play professional rugby for Canon when he was just 20 years old.

He helped Japan win the 2013 Thailand Sevens when he scored the match-winning try against Hong Kong to seal their victory.

He received Japanese citizenship in 2014 & as included in the Japan squad for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

Lemeki made his debut for the Brave Blossoms in November 2016, scoring a try on debut & two more against Georgia the following weekend.

Having been in Japan for the last 8 seasons, he currently plays for Honda Heat, who were relegated to the second-tier of Japanese rugby at the end of 2016.

In November 2017, Lomano was named in Jamie Joseph's Japan squad for the November Internationals.

In December he was named in the Sunwolves 2018 Super Rugby squad.

He was named in Japan's 31-man squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
