Leni Apisai

Apisai played for the New Zealand Schools in 2013, and advanced to the New Zealand Under-20 side which won the world final in 2015, and was captain of the 2016 team.

During the 2015 Super Rugby season he was a member of the Hurricanes wider training group. The young hooker has been developing his talent with Hurricanes under the stewardship of All Black incumbent hooker, Dan Coles.

He was promoted to the Maori All Blacks at just 20 years of age for their northern tour last year, making his debut as a replacement for the tour captain Ash Dixon against Munster.

Apisai took his Super Rugby appearances tally to 15 during the Super Rugby season and scored 3 tries in 2017. Apisai currently plays as a hooker for Wellington in the Mitre Cup.

In August, he signed a deal which will see him represent the Blues on a two-year deal. The front rower helped Wellington win promotion to the Mitre 10 Premiership in 2017, has been a member of the Hurricanes since 2016.

Apisai made 16 appearances for the Blues over the two seasons before joining the Sunwolves for the 2020 Super Rugby season.
