Despite being born in Zimbabwe's capital Harare, Godwin attended school in Perth and has represented Australia at Under-20 level.

A distributing centre or flyhalf, Godwin looks comfortable on the ball and packs well above his weight in the physicality stakes.

The highly talented centre was signed by the Western Force in 2012 and made his debut against the Reds that same year.

October saw him get included in Michael Cheika's 32-man squad for the Spring Tour for Tests against Wales, Scotland, France, Ireland and England.

As he heads into the 2017 June Internationals, he will look to gain more experience and add to his one cap for Australia.

Godwin was unable to add to his single Test cap after picking up an injury with the Brumbies that ruled him out of the June Internationals.

He returned during the NRC with Canberra Vikings and was named in the Wallabies squad to face the Barbarians.

He enters the 2018 Super Rugby season with 63 Super Rugby caps scoring 57 points since debuting for the Force against the Reds in 2012.

In March 2018, Connacht announced the signing of Brumbies centre ahead of the 2018/19 season.

Godwin made 13 appearances in his final season with the Brumbies scoring 4 tries including a cracking individual try in his final game against the Waratahs.
