Larenas plays in the centre position for Selknam. In 2017 Larenas captained the "new look" Chile team against Argentina XV.
Currently Larenas is playing for Selknam. In the 2022/23 season thus far, he has played in 8 games in the Super Rugby Americas making five starts and three off the bench.
Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Larenas has been named in the training squad for Chile.
