James Simpson-Daniel

30th May 1982 1.83m/92kg Left Wing

One of England's most electric backs, Simpson-Daniel has developed a reputation as one of the game's finest finishers. With pace to burn and the ability to beat defenders in tight spaces, Simpson-Daniel has lit up the English premiership ever since his 2001 debut. A Gloucester man through and through, he is a true stalwart of the club and is a fan favourite. Despite his quality, Simpson-Daniel has often been overlooked on the international scene since making his debut in 2002, due in part to his injury-prone nature. In the week leading up to the 2014/15 season, Simpson-Daniel was forced to retire after being advised by doctors to quit the game. He made 272 appearances for Gloucester, scoring 118 tries in the process and made 10 England caps.
