Jaco Coetzee is a South African rugby player who joined Bath Rugby with the ambition of emulating his childhood hero, Francois Louw, by making over 100 appearances for the club. He made the move to the Blue, Black, and White from Super Rugby franchise The Stormers.

During the 2020/21 season, Coetzee spent time learning the Bath way and recovering from a knee injury. He made his debut for the Stormers against the Southern Kings, coming on as a substitute in the 70th minute of the match.

Off the field, Coetzee is a family man. He made his debut for Bath Rugby against Sale Sharks on the opening day of the 2021/22 season.

Known for his impressive stopping power and physical play at the breakdown, he brings significant attacking capabilities as a destructive ball-carrying Number 8. Additionally, he offers versatility with the ability to play at blindside and openside positions.

Coetzee's rugby journey began as a young loose forward, representing SA Schools. He made his Super Rugby debut during the 2017 season against the Southern Kings. In the same year, he was named in the Western Province Currie Cup squad.

After helping Western Province to Currie Cup glory, Coetzee secured a spot in the Stormers' 2018 Super Rugby squad. Now, he continues his rugby career with Bath Rugby, aiming to make a lasting impact and achieve success with the club.
