McCalman hails from Cumnock, Central West NSW and grew up playing his junior rugby with the Molong Magpies. Jack attended The King’s School in North Parramatta where he was the School Captain, and has been at Sydney University Football Club since 2014.
Prior to coming to SUFC, Jack represented NSW and Australian Schoolboys in both 2012 and 2013, captaining the Australian side in 2013. Jack also represented and led the NSW U20s in 2014 and 2015, and the Australian U20s in 2015 at the Junior World Cup held in Italy.
