Born in Romans, France, Germain started his rugby career playing for local club, US Romans.
He went on to enjoy a 1-year spell at Bourgoin before signing a two-year deal with Top 14 side, Racing Métro until 2013.
Since then, he linked up with Brive, finishing the 2013-2014 Top 14 season as the top point scorer with 299 points.
In June 2018 Germain signed for Grenoble bringing an end to a five-year stay at Brive.
During his time at Brive he was the Top 14's top points scorer three times (2013-2014, 2015-2016 and 2016-2017).
He arrives at Grenoble with over 1500 points since debuting in 2011.
