Capatana started at Romanian club side Timisoara after trying a few other sports like boxing and wrestling. He has part of the Timisoara team since it's inception, winning two Romanian Cups and two national titles in recent years.
His good form was noticed by the Romanian national coaches and he was called to be part of the squad for the first time in 2012.
In 2015 he was selected to represent Romania at the Rugby World Cup in 2015, with his solid performance getting him a recall for the 2017 Rugby Europe Championship.
