
Davit Niniashvili shot to stardom during in the 2019 European Under-18 Rugby Union Championship organised in Kaliningrad.
He started in the final, which was won by Georgia. His performances in the competition earned him a surprise call-up to the Georgian test team for the Autumn Nations Cup in 2020.
At the time of his call-up, he was just 18 years old and had no high-level experience.
He didn't make his debut during the competition but did in February 2021 in the Rugby Europe Championship against Russia and scored his first test try in the match.
Top 14 club Lyon swooped to sign the teenage sensation on a three-year deal. He made his Top 14 debut against Perpignan in September.
He made 18 appearances for Lyon in his debut season and scored five tries helping the side win the Challenge Cup, their first European title in their history.
He was included in the Barbarians squad to face England in June 2022, at the time he had 11 test caps.
