Foley began the 2012/13 pre-season rehabbing, and made a return for the pre-season games against Bristol Rugby and London Irish in Musgrave Park. In addition to his 10 RaboDirect PRO12 appearances in 2012/13 Foley made 7 appearances in the British and Irish Cup.
Dave was named in the Emerging Ireland squad to take part in the 2013 IRB Tbilisi Cup in Georgia in May 2013 and he started in all three games.
Won his first Irish senior cap against Georgia in November's Guinness Series, also playing a part in Ireland's victory over Australia a week later.
Signed a two year contract extension in December 2014 that will see him stay with the province until at least June 2017.
At the end of his contract, Ryan moved onto pastures new in France with Pau.
