Daniel Rona (born 10 April 2000) is a talented New Zealand rugby union player who currently represents the Chiefs in Super Rugby and Taranaki in domestic competitions. His primary position on the field is at centre.

Early Career:
Daniel Rona began his rugby journey as a halfback for the Clifton Rugby Club. However, he later transitioned to playing as a centre, showcasing his versatility and adaptability. Despite his initial position change, Rona's skills and potential were evident.

Professional Career:
Rona's professional career took off when he was selected to join the Taranaki squad for the prestigious 2020 Mitre 10 Cup. He continued to be a part of the Taranaki team in subsequent years, featuring in the 2021 and 2022 Bunnings NPC seasons.

In 2023, Rona seized the opportunity to join the Chiefs during the pre-season, showcasing his determination to play at the highest level. He initially signed a 30-day training contract with the Chiefs in March 2023, earning recognition for his commitment and performance. Rona finally made his long-awaited debut for the Chiefs in Round 3 of the 2023 Super Rugby Pacific season, where he contributed to the team's efforts against the Highlanders.

Impressed by Rona's skills and potential, the Chiefs made a significant decision in May 2023. They offered him a full-time contract, securing his services until 2026. This contract extension serves as a testament to Rona's abilities and the belief the Chiefs have in his future contributions to the team.
