Only picking the game up in his teenage years, De Allende has made fast progress to become the rugby player he is today.

Playing both wing and centre, the physical backline player was selected from the lesser known Milnerton High School to represent Western Province U19&U21 before hitting the scene for the University of Cape Town in the 2012 Varsity Cup.

His strong ball carrying and defense were recognised early and was rewarded with his senior provincial debut for Western Province in the Vodacom Cup, a Currie Cup debut and started the victorious final, all in the same year. Now a regular in the Stormers and Western Province team, the utility back is touted for higher honours.

De Allende was selected as part of the Springboks starting lineup in the opening two matches of the 2014 Rugby Championship against Argentina at home and away, but struggled to cement his place in the team. In 2015, he seems to be back to his best with some sublime performances for the Stormers in Super Rugby.

He put in some superb performances in the 2015 Rugby Championship against Australia and New Zealand.

Having made his Super Rugby debut in 2013, De Allende has scored 50 points in 55 caps heading into the 2017 Super Rugby season.

De Allende was once again included in the Springbok squad ahead of the June Internationals against Wales and England. To date, he has 28 test caps to his name and has scored 3 international tries.
