Atonio Ulutuipalelei started playing rugby very late, at the age of 19. Originally from Wallis and Futuna, he began his career with Racing's youth team. He joined Rennes in Fédérale 1 in 2019. In his second season with the Breton club, he went on a short-term contract with Vannes in Pro D2 to cover for injuries. The tighthead prop (1.85m – 131kg) continued his rise with Rennes, becoming French Fédérale 1 champion in 2022. He then experienced the third division of French rugby and played 22 matches, starting 10 of them. For the last two years, he played for Bourg-en-Bresse, also in Nationale.
