Bathurst boy Tom Hooper joins the Brumbies squad for the 2021 Super Rugby season having graduated from the Brumbies pathways programme.
The bruising lock has been growing steadily since making the move to Canberra out of High School, the 19-year-old standing out from the crowd at club level for the Tuggeranong Vikings in 1st grade last year.
Hooper was part of the Australian Schoolboys U18’s side that went unbeaten in New Zealand in 2019, alongside fellow 2021 Brumbies Academy graduates Lachie Albert and Billy Pollard as well as Reesjan Pasitoa.
Hooper turned heads in 2022, where he was very impressive and caught the eye of former Wallaby coach Michael Cheika. Unfortunately a shoulder injury in the Brumbies semi final defeat to the Blues brought a premature end to his season and robbed him of the chance to make the Australian A squad for the Pacific Nations Cup.
Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Hooper has been named in the squad for Australia.
