The former French international hooker retired after a 12 year professional career.
Bru mainly played his rugby in Toulouse, featuring to the Top 14 side over 10 years after 2 different spells with the club. In his time in Toulouse he made his France debut, making 18 caps and winning two 6 Nations in 2002 and 2004.
He retired in 2007 and instantly went into coaching with Toulouse, becoming their forwards coach. Bru held the role until 2012, before becoming the forwards coach of the French national side.
In 2018, he joined the coaching ranks at Bayonne.
Between 2022-2023 he was the breakdown coach at the Sharks in South Africa and in 2023 he was announced as the head coach of Bordeaux.
In the 2024/25 they won the Champions Cup
