Pedro Bettencourt was born and raised in Porto, Portugal. Standing at 6 foot 1 and weighing 94kg, Bettencourt is renowned for his hard-hitting defence, piercing attacking runs and offloading game.

A Portugese international at both 7s and 15s, Pedro Bettencourt spent two seasons in the academy of French giants Clermont 2014-2016 before moving to Carcassonne 2016-2018.
In 2018/19, Bettencourt moved to England and played for Newcastle Falcons in the Premiership.
As of the 2018/2019 Champions Cup, Bettencourt has had 5 European Cups appearances scoring 1 try.
He has since returned to Pro D2 rugby and plays for Oyonnax Rugby since 2019/20.
An experienced campaigner for Portugal, Bettencourt has caps in European Challenge Cup and Champions Cup, Pro D2, Top 14, English Premiership and Premiership Cup.
