A product of the Connacht Academy, Murray made an impression on the Ireland u20 coaching staff and earned a call for the 2019 U20 Six Nations.
Murray made his senior competitive debut for Connacht in their 27–24 victory against Gloucester in the 2018–19 European Rugby Champions Cup on 14 December 2019. He came on as a replacement.
