Watch: The worst All Black of all time?
- 4277
The All Blacks are renowned for producing some of the best outside backs in world rugby with the likes of Ben Smith, Mils Muliaina, Jonah Lomu, Doug Howlett and Julian Savea springing to mind.
However, during the 1977 British and Irish Lions tour New Zealand gave, possibly the worst All Black in history, Colin Farrell his international debut.
Farrell became All Black #773, at the age of 21, and the Auckland full black was an out of nowhere selection for the first test against the very strong Lions side.
Selected on the recommendation of Bryan Williams, Farrell, played 2 Tests against the British & Irish Lions and those test were filled with a load of fumbling (one of which errors led to a try) and a dozen kicks coming off his shin.
The official All Blacks website notes that he "made a host of errors" and was "out of his depth".
