Julian Savea scored in a try on his return to Mitre 10 Cup action for Wellington on Saturday.
The former All Black dotted down just six minutes into his first appearance for Wellington in three years as his side fell 53-28 to Waikato.
His younger brother, Ardie played a key role to Julian's try with Wellington handed an attacking scrum deep inside Waikato's 22.
Ardie scooped the ball up at the back of the scrum drew in a few defenders before slinging the ball out to his brother. Julian was confronted by two defenders but managed to weave through the attempted tackles before powering over the line in the corner in stellar fashion.

Although Wellington started brightly, it was the Damian McKenzie show for the next 10 minutes as the All Black fullback scored a try, played a part in another, slotted both conversions and three penalties as Waikato surged to a 23-7 lead.
Vaea Fifita responded in the 29th minute for Wellington with Conor Garden-Bachop closing the gap to just two points at the break.
Former All Black Adam Thomson scored in the second half on his Waikato debut while Ardie Savea dotted down for himself as the second half got off to a rip roaring start.
McKenzie dotted down again before Luke Jacobson sealed the result for Waikato in the 75th minute.
