Wales squad: injury update
- 2285
Wales have suffered another injury blow as their tour of South Africa looms.
Alex Cuthbert has suffered a resurgence of the hamstring injury which has plagued him before, and Wales boss Wayne Pivac will be sweating on the availability of the 32 year-old who would be a useful member of the squad against the world champions.
32 year-old Cuthbert was back in the international mix earlier this season after a four-year absence while he plied his trade in the English Premiership with Exeter Chiefs before returning to his native Wales and joining up with Ospreys.
The Welsh are in a poor space in terms of injuries with a whole host of players completing the domestic season on the sidelines; Josh Adams, Wyn Jones, Tomos Williams, Ryan Elias, Will Rowlands, Rhys Patchell, Leon Brown and Ben Carter.
Wales play their first match against the Springboks at Pretoria’s Loftus Versfeld on Saturday, July 2. Thereafter, Tests in Bloemfontein and Cape Town will be observed.
