An emphatic second half performance saw the Bulls make it three wins from three to start the Rainbow Cup SA, running out 43-9 home victors over the Sharks in round 3. The battle of the boot dominated the first half, with the sides alternating two penalties apiece to see them level at 6-6 after 24 minutes. The Bulls kept the scoreboard ticking over, slotting a further two penalties to open up a 12-6 lead. The Sharks kicked a late first half penalty to trail by just three points at the break. The Bulls ran in the first try of the match 12 minutes into the second half and followed that up with a penalty around the hour mark to take control of the match at 22-9. It was all Bulls in the final quarter, as the hosts crossed for three tries to cruise to a bonus point victory which saw them move above the Sharks into top spot in the standings.
